Well, the trip to MO is over and it was a short trip, but a nice break. And now that we're back, we both went in to wedding planning mode. Which is a good thing, but next trip will probably either be just a quick weekend trip or not till after the wedding.
But the trip to MO was great, Ben's uncle is doing better, though he was wiped out for a few days because of his treatment. We went to the Old Time Heritage Ozark Music Festival. To Mammoth Spring, AK for some catfish, and to the dawt and Hodgenson mills on Sunday to see the water level and ice cream.
One never knows where their trusty "Vibe" or "Jeep" will take them or the road will lead them.

2 days left
Only 2 days left and we leave at 7 in the morning to head to MO to visit Wally and Cheryl. I wonder if there's going to be any detours because of the flooding that had come about from all the rainfall the past couple of weeks. I know there's some roads closed still because of the water and I wonder if that will effect the route. I also wondering if we'll stop at all the Lincoln things in IL this time. I wouldn't mind stopping at the Arch in St. Louis, but I don't know if we will.
I picked up a passport for all the national parks and such and of course I picked it up after we went to the Arch the first time, which was our first road trip together, we stopped on the way to visit Wally and Cheryl. I hadn't known Ben that long only 2 months, but I trusted him enough to go with him, and I don't regret it one bit, I'm glad I had the chance to meet them when I did. They were also the first relatives we saw after we were engaged. And we try and go visit them at least once a year, if not twice.
This will be another will get away and even though it's only been a week since the last one, I CAN'T WAIT!

MO
So as it gets closer to our next trip which is to visit Ben's aunt and uncle in MO we have to once again get ready. We won't camp this time we'll be staying at Angel Acres which is their home. They have a guest quarter in the lower level, but it's a walk out so we can go and come as we please. I"ll see if I can't manage to get some video of the hummingbirds this year. So yep we leave on Thursday the 19th. So it's close.

Door County Sunsets
As the sun sets on our first day of our trip we were able to capture some nice sunset pictures.
State Parks-Peninsula
Peninsula State Park was our "home" for the night. We set up our tent and it wasn't all that bad. We had site 458 in Tennison Bay Campground. There was no one else around that area it was quite peaceful.
Eagle Bluff Lighthouse is also located in Peninsula State Park, we stopped there and unfortunaly had just missed the start of a tour. It was an awesome few but there were people sitting on the ledge so I didn't get to take too many pictures from that area, but I was able to get a pictures of an artist painting the light house. He did a great job, I know of one person who would have really liked it.

We also went up Eagle Tower which is 25 feet more both sea level then the Potawatomi Tower. Once again some more awsome views.

State Parks- Potawatomi
Well the weather held out for us on Saturday but like I mentioned most of Sunday was a wash out. Though it did stop for most of the time we were at Cave Point County Park. Once again I know we crammed so much into one weekend like we did when in Dubuque, but I didn't feel as rushed this time, I think only because every thing is so close to each other in Door County. The weather did stop us from going to Washington Island and RockIsland State Park, both obviously require a ferry to get to.
Potawatomi State Park was our first state park that we stopped at. We picked up our state park sticker and went on our way. We went up the tower and got to see a great vies of the park and some islands.
WDNR-"Potawatomi, on the shore of Sturgeon Bay just northwest of the city of Sturgeon Bay in Door County, has gently rolling upland terrain bordered by steep slopes and rugged limestone ciffs.
Trails-This 1,225-acre park offers trails for hiking (9 miles), mountain biking (8 miles), skiing (8.5 miles, groomed and tracked, some for skate skiing) and snowmobiling (8.3 miles). Bicycle rentals are available from the park store. A small sledding hill is available near the campground shelter.
Water Recreation-Potawatomi is a base for boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, SCUBA diving, and water skiing on Green Bay. canoe, and kayak rentals are available from the park store."

Door County
Well, the weekend get away was fun. Expect for the rain on Sunday which put a damper on some of our chosen activites, but we still made a go of it. I'll put up some pictures and a movie or two, just to give a sample of what we did. We went to 4 of the 5 state parks (Potawatomi, Penisula, Newport, andWhitefish Dunes) and a few of the county parks(Lasalle, Forestville Dam, and Cave Point) also. We also stopped at Point Beach State Forest, which is not in Door County and Bay Shore County Park in Brown County.
I'm attaching a video I took on my camera while at Cave Point County Park, which is next to Whitefish Dunes State Park.

Weekend Camping Trip
Oh I do love camping, most of it as of recently was in a pop-up camper. But Ben and I got us a tent and now we tent most places. We tented up at the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, our "front yard" was a beach on the lake. We went tenting in the Rocky Mountains in CO (the sky was so vast, I don't recall a time where I could see the stars so clearly and we're they bright.)
Our next trip which actually starts tomorrow, will take us to Door County, Peninsula State Park. A weekend get away from work and wedding planning. (Which is only 4 months away, OMG! Actually I'm not panicing yet...) Temp. to be in the 60's on Saturday and Sunday and low of 58 at night. Plus let's not forget the chance of thunderstorms...first time for tenting in a thunderstorm. Should be fun! We'll set up around 3ish.
According to the National Weather Service for where we will be:
Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Areas of fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. South southwest wind between 13 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.
Saturday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1am. Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. South southwest wind between 11 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. South southwest wind between 10 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Feeling Left Out
Seeing has how I was the only one of my siblings not to have a blog going, I thought what the heck why not. Might be fun at that. See both my sister and sister-in-law have the gloating privileges. Each having beautiful children to post about as they continue to grow up so fast. I as of yet don't have that. But I do have the many travels my fiancé and I take, to eventually and hopefully be taken over with some gloating of my own, just start a new blog for that.
I do'nt know how interested ya'll be with the talks of my travels, but Ben and I have a system down that gets us pn our way and helps us keep track. We actually keep refining the system as we go. But that's neither here nor there...haha
