Our first stop of the 2nd day.

I think this is so cool, just a reminder that the trees saw it all.

We were able to leave Sunday night for the honeymoon. We drove through Chicago and ended up in Merrillville, IN for the night. Here some pictures from the city of lights, Chicago.

We're back!

Well we're back for our honeymoon, and we were able to nail down 4 more states: Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. Which is more then we figured we get to step foot in. We didn't get to the bluegrass hall of fame in Owensboro, KY like we had wanted to. The hours of business were not working with our time schedule. So that's being save for a different trip as is the Mammoth Cave National Park. I'll just throw up a few of the pictures as highlights for now and get more up later. So at the moment it will be the few that I have with both of us in the picture, which isn't easy. One a nice lady took for us (the one of us next to the shark) and the rest I had it set on the self-timer (which I keep forgetting my camera has).

TN

Well so I haven't put up pictures yet from the last trip, but most of those are of the animals anyways.

We're hoping to be able to leave for the honeymoon on Sunday as toMonday morning, but that all depends on how long people stay at the gift opening. With so many things that have to get done at the last minute, we're hoping to get the packing done on Thur. but the way things have been going there'll be a kink in there somewhere and that's not hte way it's going to work out. But I'm hoping that's not the case. By Thurs, we should be able to determine what the weather will be like so we know what to pack. Hopefully not to warm and not to cold. Like it is right now in the low to mid 60's.

One last getaway

Ben and I had one last getaway. We went to the Walworth county fair and Old World Wisconsin. We went Labor day weekend, pretty much the last free weekend before the wedding. I work 2 of them, one I walk for the Alzheimer Association's Memory Walk and an anniversary party, then we take the gifts at church and then the wedding. So that means one busy last month.

High Cliff

So here are the pictures I promised from High Cliff. I was watching the Olympics, being a true supporter. But since getting the digital box for the transfer in Feb, 2009, I have been having more problems with "weak signal" and "no signal" "audio only" Tell me again why this is suppose to be better? Anyways here are the pictures

Next Trip

It appears that the next major road trip in our future will be for our "honeymoon". We're heading to Nashville, TN. We'll probably leave Monday morning after a very long weekend, he better let me sleep in the car. We plan on taking 2 days to get there and 2 days back, that way we can enjoy the sights along the way. This is a new state for me, I haven't set foot in Tennessee yet I was able to just briefly step in Kentucky. We will hopefully cover more of that area as well. I'm excited to be going and I can't wait to have be able to use some of my first sewing projects...that is once I get the sewing machine figured out. So look for those about mid-October, pictures that is.

Day trip

SO Ben and I took a day trip to High Cliff for my birthday weekend. It was a nice time. We walked down and up a part of the old road that's steep, I was feeling it in my thighs on Monday still. I'll get pictures up of that soon. Like with in the next couple of days, hopefully

MI

So Ben and I went to Michigan for our goddaughter's dedication. Or my sister's daughter. It was fun, and mom and grandma traveled with us. We got to see Jennie and Magid and the rest of Joe's family that was able to come for the dedication. Plus some of the friends from the last time we were there and from the wedding. So not to many pictures to be put on this blog but more on the other blog instead.

Sunrise, Sunset

And the trip wouldn't be complete without sunrise and sunset pictures. Sunset on the left. Sunrise on the right

Jigging

We went to the Old Time Heritage Blue Grass Festival while in MO. So here's a movie of jigging and some other pictures from the festival. Like the quilt and apron show. The "purple" star was the one that Cheryl put in the contest and the one I voted for. I like the history behind it.

Hummingbirds

I love watching the hummingbirds when I'm at Angel Acres. They always seem to be in a hurry, but it seems so magical to see them sit still.

MO pictures

Okay so the MO pics are a little late in coming I'm just uploading them to the computer tonight, but that's all fine and good and I'll get them posted hopefully with in the next couple of days.

MO

Well, the trip to MO is over and it was a short trip, but a nice break. And now that we're back, we both went in to wedding planning mode. Which is a good thing, but next trip will probably either be just a quick weekend trip or not till after the wedding.

But the trip to MO was great, Ben's uncle is doing better, though he was wiped out for a few days because of his treatment. We went to the Old Time Heritage Ozark Music Festival. To Mammoth Spring, AK for some catfish, and to the dawt and Hodgenson mills on Sunday to see the water level and ice cream.

2 days left

Only 2 days left and we leave at 7 in the morning to head to MO to visit Wally and Cheryl. I wonder if there's going to be any detours because of the flooding that had come about from all the rainfall the past couple of weeks. I know there's some roads closed still because of the water and I wonder if that will effect the route. I also wondering if we'll stop at all the Lincoln things in IL this time. I wouldn't mind stopping at the Arch in St. Louis, but I don't know if we will.

I picked up a passport for all the national parks and such and of course I picked it up after we went to the Arch the first time, which was our first road trip together, we stopped on the way to visit Wally and Cheryl. I hadn't known Ben that long only 2 months, but I trusted him enough to go with him, and I don't regret it one bit, I'm glad I had the chance to meet them when I did. They were also the first relatives we saw after we were engaged. And we try and go visit them at least once a year, if not twice.

This will be another will get away and even though it's only been a week since the last one, I CAN'T WAIT!

MO

So as it gets closer to our next trip which is to visit Ben's aunt and uncle in MO we have to once again get ready. We won't camp this time we'll be staying at Angel Acres which is their home. They have a guest quarter in the lower level, but it's a walk out so we can go and come as we please. I"ll see if I can't manage to get some video of the hummingbirds this year. So yep we leave on Thursday the 19th. So it's close.

Door County Sunsets

As the sun sets on our first day of our trip we were able to capture some nice sunset pictures.

And this has to be one of my favorite sunset pictures.

State Parks-Peninsula

Peninsula State Park was our "home" for the night. We set up our tent and it wasn't all that bad. We had site 458 in Tennison Bay Campground. There was no one else around that area it was quite peaceful.

Eagle Bluff Lighthouse is also located in Peninsula State Park, we stopped there and unfortunaly had just missed the start of a tour. It was an awesome few but there were people sitting on the ledge so I didn't get to take too many pictures from that area, but I was able to get a pictures of an artist painting the light house. He did a great job, I know of one person who would have really liked it.

We also went up Eagle Tower which is 25 feet more both sea level then the Potawatomi Tower. Once again some more awsome views.
